Elizabeth Harris
My name is Elizabeth Harris, and I am a second-year Environmental Science student at Midwestern State University. I was born in Washington State and spent the first part of my life in California, including a few years just west of Death Valley, before moving to Azle, Texas, where I lived the next 10 years, and I’ve been in Wichita Falls for just over 2 years.
I have a strong interest in entomology, particularly the effects of climate change on insect populations and their ecosystems. I’m passionate about biodiversity, ecological resilience, and the roles insects play in maintaining environmental balance. Currently, I am working with Dr. Kashif Mahmud on a project studying transportation emissions from light-duty vehicles in California versus Texas, which explores differences in environmental impact and policy effectiveness.
In my free time, I enjoy rollerblading and spending time outdoors. I’m always eager to learn and connect with others who share interests in insects, sustainability, and climate science. Feel free to reach out via email if you'd like to connect.
